In addition to patent litigation, ZY Partners is known for litigation involving FRAND license of standard essential patents (SEP) and technology transfer, and international arbitration involving import and export of restricted technologies. We defended an owner of telecommunication standard essential patents in antitrust lawsuit filed by a major Chinese implementer of the standard in Shenzhen in coordination with the client’s multi-jurisdictional litigations. The case was settled in 2016 when the plaintiff agreed to withdraw the lawsuit and take a license to the client’s patents. We also successfully represented many international clients in cases involving telecommunication technology licensing contracts, and eventually helped the parties enter into a license agreement.
